The process
I aim to make the whole process as stress- and jargon-free as possible. My approach is to work closely with you at every stage of building the website to make sure you are satisfied with the final outcome. Below are the typical steps we would follow while building a website.
Initial discussion about your requirements
We have an initial chat – either in person (if you are in Cardiff), over the phone/Skype/email – about your requirements. We will discuss the aims of your website, your target audience and your preferred website look and functionality. It may be helpful if you have some examples of what you have in mind. Also, if you already have some materials relating to your business, such as business-cards or leaflets, I could create the website look to match those.
Initial design
Next, I will prepare one or two sample designs, following your guidelines and requirements. You will then be able to see it online (or we can have another meeting in person) and we can discuss whether there are any changes that need to be made. We work that way until we arrive at the design that you are satisfied with.
Building of the website
If you are satisfied with the look, we will then move on to the proper site building stage. At this point I would ask you for a deposit, usually 25% of the final price of the website. I would then proceed to buy the domain name and hosting account and build the site. Once the “skeleton” of the site is ready the website content can be added.
Final testing
I perform final adjustments and set up email account(s). If everything looks ok and you are happy with the site, I would then ask for the final 75% of the fee.
You’ll be able to see your website online as it is being built, or you can choose to activate it after it’s ready.
If your website is editable (CMS) and you are not confident with computers, I can either give you a short tutorial about how to use (for free) of you’ll receive a link to video tutorial.
That’s it!
If you have any questions, please contact me and I’ll be hapy to help. Looking forward to working ith you.
